WHAT CAN WINEMAKING TEACH US ABOUT AI IN INSURANCE & FINANCIAL SERVICES?

ABOUT THE SESSION

As business processes and decision-making become more automated, a question arises as to what extent we still need a human in the loop. Exactly the same trend is occurring in winemaking, with consumers moving towards low human intervention wines (organic). In other words, there is a trend towards less human involvement in winemaking and in insurance and financial services.

What can thousands of years of winemaking teach us about to what extent humans need to remain in the loop?

Through the tasting of 5 different wines, Jeff Heasman will help us to address these issues by combining his doctoral level research into automation of decision-making in insurance with the knowledge, passion and experience he has gained from operating a wine business in Galicia, Spain.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

Identify the role of humans in business processes and current trends in automation.
